Our two turn-key apartments are located in the barrio de Jalatlaco, a small neighborhood of Oaxaca, just a 20-minute walk N.E. of the city center. Jalatlaco was mentioned in the Time Out magazine in 2019 to be amongst one of the “50 coolest neighborhoods in the world”. In 2023 “Tianguis Turístico México”, along with the Governor of Oaxaca, declared Jalatlaco to be the first “Magical Barrio” of the state for its cultural heritage, history, and architecture.
All the major tourist attractions are a stone throw from our property. The Santo Domingo complex, Basilica of the Soledad, Institute of Graphic Arts are just a few attractions which are within 15-25 minutes walking distance. The tourist street, Alcala, which runs from Santo Domingo to the zocolo, is a mere 15-minute walk.
We can assure you that our vacation rentals are clean and in perfect working order upon arrival. If in the event something does occur, we are fast to respond to whatever problem may arise. Your host resides onsite or is just a knock on the door away.
The infamous local indoor-outdoor market, La Mercado de Merced, is just a short walk away with its wonderful fruits, vegetables, breads and dairy and least not forget the armloads of fresh flowers. Our location also provides convenient access to many Spanish language schools, two of which are right in our neighborhood.

William and Nora, our hosts, were very present and helpful whenever needed. We hired Nora to be our guide 3 times and she is remarkable and so knowledgeable. Our city/centro history tour was a great start to our stay. And our trip to Tlacolula's Sunday Market Day was lots of fun too. Don't miss one of her cooking classes.
